Tomato Sauce for Pizza

Deliciously fragrant and wonderfully fresh.

Cook time: 25 mins

Serves: 500ml


2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium-sized onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
600g tomatoes (*skinned) OR
425g tin crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Pop oil into a large frying pan, over a medium heat.  

Gently saute the onions, stirring now and again, until soft, fragrant and golden (you’re adding the love right now people).

Add the garlic and cook for a further 5 minutes before pouring in the tomatoes, paste and sugar.

Cook gently, until your sauce is thick and jammy – this will take about 15 minutes.

This amount will make one big or 2 small pizzas.
